INCOIS Deploys Tarang For Real-Time Tsunami Alerts

On February 9, 2026, INCOIS commissioned the Tarang high-performance computer to deliver AI/ML-powered, 24/7 real-time tsunami alerts and high-resolution Indian Ocean forecasts. The institute also unveiled a district-wise ocean forecast dashboard, three user services, and partnerships with ISRO to equip about one lakh fishing boats with transponders and support Oceansat-3A monitoring.
