Texas Instruments Joins NVIDIA To Accelerate Humanoids

Texas Instruments has partnered with NVIDIA to integrate TI's mmWave radar sensing with NVIDIA's Jetson Thor platform, aiming to accelerate safe humanoid robot deployment. The companies will link sensors to Jetson Thor via NVIDIA's Holoscan Sensor Bridge to reduce latency and enable perception in low light, fog, smoke, and through transparent obstacles like glass. Details will be presented at NVIDIA GTC, March 16–19 in San Jose.
Key Points
- 1Integrates TI mmWave radar with NVIDIA Jetson Thor via Holoscan Sensor Bridge for low-latency sensing
- 2Improves perception in low light, fog, smoke and detects transparent obstacles, boosting operational safety
- 3Provides developers a functional-safety foundation to accelerate testing and deployment of humanoid robots
Scoring Rationale
Official TI–NVIDIA partnership provides practical sensing integration for robotics, but it is commercial engineering rather than novel research.
