RADV Adds Dedicated Transfer Queue Support
Timur Kristóf of Valve merged dedicated transfer-only queue support using the SDMA engine into the RADV driver for Mesa 26.0. The patch enables transfer queues on GFX9 (Vega) and newer GPUs, allowing DXVK and other Vulkan backends to offload resource streaming and memory defragmentation. Mesa 26.0 stable is expected in February, with the feature freeze and branching scheduled next week.
Scoring Rationale
Official, usable driver feature with clear benefits; limited novelty and narrow graphics-focused relevance reduce wider impact.
