Asda Foundation is funding more than 550 community groups this Christmas to tackle loneliness among over-60s, following a survey of over 2,000 people that found 17% spoke to no one last festive season. The foundation will distribute Better Together grants, invest more than £500,000 this winter and deploy 'Happy to Chat' badges and £1 Winter Warmer offers to increase social contact.
