Smiling Friends Creators End Series Early
Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel announced on Adult Swim’s channels on Feb. 26, 2026 that their animated sitcom Smiling Friends will end after Season 3, despite earlier renewals for seasons 4 and 5. They cited burnout and a desire not to produce halfhearted episodes; two completed unaired episodes will air April 12, and the creators plan new projects through their indie studio Zam.
