US War Department Plans AI-First Military

The US Department of War has announced a strategy to accelerate military use of artificial intelligence and establish an 'AI-first' fighting force, mandating seven initial projects to improve combat tactics, intelligence processing, weapons development, and administrative automation. Announced by Secretary Pete Hegseth under President Donald Trump's directive, the plan removes DEI requirements from combat AI, will provision Grok and Google Gemini via GenAI.mil, and creates a barrier-removal SWAT team.
