India Launches National IED Data Management System

On Jan. 9, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the National IED Data Management System (NIDMS), developed by NSG with support from Rashtriya Raksha University, IIT‑Delhi, NIA and I4C. Hosted at the NSG Manesar hub and using AI/ML, the platform aggregates bombing data from some 800 users to enable real-time exchange, signature linkage analysis and predictive post-blast investigations.
Key Points
- 1Launches a national digital IED database (NIDMS) developed by NSG, RRU, IIT‑Delhi, NIA, I4C
- 2Equips agencies with AI/ML-driven real-time analysis for signature linkages and predictive bombing insights
- 3Enables police, ATS, NIA and central forces to speed prosecutions and coordinate forensic investigations
Scoring Rationale
Official government launch with AI-driven national coverage; novelty limited by integration focus rather than a novel ML methodology.
