Unitree Demonstrates G1 Walking 130,000 Steps

Unitree demonstrated its G1 humanoid robot completing an autonomous 130,000-step trek across a snowfield in Xinjiang’s Altay region, operating in temperatures down to −47.4°C (−53°F). Across an approximately 186-by-100 metre area the robot traced a Winter Olympics emblem while wearing insulated coverings to protect joints, actuators and batteries, using China’s Beidou for centimetre-level positioning and UnifoLM control with a 9,000 mAh battery.
Scoring Rationale
Official Unitree demonstration shows notable cold-weather capability; limited broader novelty beyond a staged engineering milestone and single-test data.
