Trump Orders Agencies To Stop Using Anthropic

President Donald Trump on Friday directed every U.S. federal agency to immediately cease using technology from AI startup Anthropic, ordering a six-month phase-out for some departments. The move follows a Pentagon ultimatum that Anthropic accept unrestricted military use by a Friday deadline and references Anthropic's July $200 million contract with the Defense Department. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and OpenAI's Sam Altman said they will not allow use for autonomous weapons or mass surveillance.
