What Temporal showed

Temporal Cloud invokes, scales and shuts down those workers according to workload volume, including scaling to zero where appropriate.
Somal also said Temporal has handled up to 150,000 actions per second and named Stripe, Netflix, Datadog and Snap as customers. The interview does not provide the workload definition, test conditions or independently verified results needed to treat that number as a comparative benchmark.
The AWS relationship is not new
Temporal Cloud was already sold through AWS Marketplace before this interview. The current marketplace listing describes a pay-as-you-go managed service available in more than 12 AWS regions. It says Temporal Cloud preserves workflow state and recovers from failures while customer workers continue to run in the customer's own environment.
That makes the July 21 item an update on Temporal's agent tooling and operating model, not a fresh marketplace launch. The distinction avoids turning an interview about recent capabilities into a misleading distribution announcement.
What teams should evaluate
Durable execution can remove repeated failure-handling code, but it does not determine whether an agent's plan, tools or outputs are correct. Teams evaluating the platform should test replay and idempotency behavior, dependency timeouts, task-queue pressure, recovery after worker failure and the cost profile of their own action mix. Serverless Workers are still pre-release, so production adoption also needs explicit checks for supported workloads and feature limits.
