Spotify Launches Prompted Playlist AI Feature

Spotify on Jan. 23, 2026 rolled out 'prompted playlist', an AI-powered feature in the United States and Canada that lets premium users tailor playlists using listening habits and natural-language commands. The feature, tested in New Zealand, allows users to set rules and schedule daily or weekly refreshes. Spotify says the update aims to deepen personalization and drive premium subscriptions after a recent $1 price increase.
