Shin Bet Reports Spike In Iranian Espionage

In its 2025 annual report released Jan. 22, 2026, the Shin Bet said it indicted 25 people for spying for Iran and thwarted 120 separate Iranian intelligence activities, reporting a 400% rise in recruitment attempts from 2024. The agency also reported indictments and arrests of Israeli‑Arabs, thousands detained in the West Bank, and involvement in about 1,200 Gaza militants' deaths.
