OpenAI and SoftBank announced on Friday they will invest $1 billion in SB Energy to support OpenAI's AI infrastructure buildout, the companies said. SB Energy will build and operate OpenAI's 1.2-gigawatt data center site in Milam County, Texas, part of the $500 billion Stargate commitment first unveiled at the White House in January. The deal aims to speed deployment of large, energy-integrated AI data centers.
