Ocado Expands Technology Availability To Retailers

Ocado Group said on Dec. 30 it has ended mutual exclusivity with retailers in most of its markets, including Kroger in the United States, and will offer its grocery technology to additional customers. The company highlighted its AI-powered robotic solutions, store automation and customer fulfillment centres, and noted Kroger plans to close three CFCs in January 2026 while paying Ocado more than $250 million.
Key Points
- 1Ended mutual exclusivity with retailers, including Kroger, opening markets for new Ocado partnerships.
- 2Provides AI-powered and robotic CFCs, store automation and manual fulfillment to scale online grocery operations.
- 3Allows retailers to deploy immediate, same-day, next-day delivery options and optimize fulfillment networks for profitability.
Scoring Rationale
Official commercial expansion and strategic partner openings drive high impact, limited by absence of novel technical breakthroughs.
