MIT Researchers Predict LVEF Decline From ECGs

Researchers at MIT, Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School publish PULSE-HF in Lancet eClinical Medicine, a deep-learning model that forecasts left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) decline within one year from ECGs. Tested retrospectively on cohorts from Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and MIMIC-IV, it achieved AUROCs of 0.87–0.91, with a single-lead version matching 12-lead performance; clinicians could use it to prioritize follow-up and screening.
