Microsoft Builds Project Helix With Enhanced Raytracing

At GDC 2026 Microsoft VP Jason Ronald announced Project Helix, the next Xbox with a custom AMD chip promising an order-of-magnitude raytracing increase and ML-based FSR upscaling with frame generation; Microsoft will send alpha hardware to developers in 2027. Ronald also detailed tighter Xbox–Windows integration, Xbox mode arriving on select Windows PCs in April, Advanced Shader Delivery, unified development, and 1,500+ Play Anywhere titles.
