Kakao Launches Kanana Scholar Academic Collaboration Program

Kakao launched Kanana Scholar, an AI collaboration program, and held its inaugural expert-advisory meeting on March 9, the company said. The program convenes seven professors from Yonsei, KAIST, Hanyang and Seoul National University to advise on the Kanana foundation model, on-device AI, agentic AI and AI safety, and will include student exchange initiatives. Kakao says it aims to refine AI strategy and strengthen industry-academia ties through regular exchanges.
