India Joins Pax Silica, Opens Micron Facility

India formally joined the US-led Pax Silica initiative and inaugurated Micron Technology’s ATMP semiconductor plant in Sanand, Gujarat on February 28, 2026, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor. Pax Silica, launched December 2025, aims to secure end-to-end tech supply chains and maintain an 18-month R&D advantage for members. India’s entry complements roughly 10 semiconductor projects worth USD 19 billion, accelerating domestic advanced manufacturing and attracting investment.
