Hong Kong Regulators Expand GenAI Sandbox Program

Hong Kong's HKMA, SFC, IA and MPFA invited regulated institutions to apply to the expanded GenAI Sandbox++ through 30 June 2026, the regulators said. The programme, launched with Cyberport and extending the 2024 banking sandbox to securities, asset management, insurance, MPF and stored-value facilities, offers complimentary GPU access at Cyberport's AI Supercomputing Centre plus supervisory guidance and technical support. Participants will attend Collaboratory workshops for rapid prototyping.
