Google Deploys Air-Cooling To Reduce Water Use

Google plans an upcoming data center in Wilbarger County, Texas, using advanced air-cooling to limit water consumption to critical campus operations and partnering with AES to co-locate new clean energy plants. The move arrives amid concerns that two-thirds of more than 4,000 U.S. data centers are in water-stressed areas, with medium facilities using about 110 million gallons annually.
