Developers View Generative AI As Harmful

A recent Game Developers Conference survey of 2,300 game industry professionals finds 52 percent say generative AI has a negative impact, rising from 18 percent in 2024 and 30 percent in 2025. The poll shows 36 percent use gen AI at work mainly for research and brainstorming, while layoffs and hiring concerns persist, with 17 percent laid off in the past year.
