China Grows Hard-Technology Gazelles Driving Industrial Upgrading

Hurun Research Institute released the Global Gazelles Index 2025 in Beijing on Tuesday, identifying 819 high-growth gazelle companies worldwide, with China hosting 278, up from 70 in 2019. The report shows these firms concentrate in hard-technology sectors such as biotechnology, semiconductors, AI and robotics and cluster in hubs like the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and the Greater Bay Area.
