AWS Launches European Sovereign Cloud and Expansion
Amazon Web Services announced general availability of the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, an EU-located, physically and logically separated cloud, and plans sovereign Local Zones in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Portugal. AWS said the service launches from a new Brandenburg, Germany Region, with plans to invest more than €7.8 billion in Germany and support an average of 2,800 full-time equivalent jobs annually, offering EU-only operations and strict data residency for governments and enterprises.
