Apple Adds Integrated Video Podcast Support

Apple announced on Monday it will add an integrated video podcast experience to Apple Podcasts this spring, enabling users to switch between watching and listening, use picture-in-picture, and download videos for offline viewing. The update introduces HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) support, adaptive playback and dynamic video ad insertion with hosting partners Acast, ART19, Omny Studio and SiriusXM. Creators can monetize video episodes while Apple charges ad networks an impression-based fee.
