Developer Lyra Rebane launched Xikipedia, a web app that presents Simple English Wikipedia entries in a social-media-style, scrollable feed and runs a local recommendation algorithm on users' browsers. The app loads about 40 MB to provide summaries from over 278,000 Simple Wikipedia articles, adapts to likes within the session without collecting or sharing data, and links each summary to the full article.
