Tempo Launches Workforce Intelligence for Jira AI Costs

Tempo describes Workforce Intelligence as an AI-spend-management product for engineering organizations. Its launch post says the tool brings provider cost data together with Jira work so a team can connect an AI expense to the work item, epic, or initiative it helped fund.

The company says the product is intended to give leadership a single view of AI cost and output rather than separate usage dashboards, spreadsheets, and project records. That is a product claim, not an independently measured productivity result.

The Atlassian Marketplace listing identifies integrations with GitHub, Claude, and OpenAI. It says the app maps AI token costs to Jira tasks and epics, and presents measures such as adoption, AI-assisted cycle time, and spend by team or provider.

Tempo's launch material also says the product is available now through the Marketplace. The public evidence supports the availability and the stated integrations; it does not independently establish that the tool will improve an organization's return on AI spending.

As organizations add coding assistants and AI agents to engineering workflows, finance and platform teams need a way to distinguish tool usage from the work it supported. Workforce Intelligence is one attempt to make that connection inside a system teams already use for planning and delivery.

The practical question for adopters is whether the data links remain accurate across provider accounts, repositories, and Jira project structure. That makes the release most relevant to teams that already have consistent Jira hygiene and want a shared basis for reviewing AI-tool cost and usage.
