Philippines SSS Signs MOU With Surfin

The Philippines Social Security System (SSS) signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore fintech Surfin Meta Digital Technology at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 19–23, 2026 to explore modernization of selected SSS financial-service programs. Under the MOU both parties will assess Surfin's risk-management engines and pilot AI tools — credit scoring, big-data modelling, and chatbots — to improve loan administration, member servicing and compliance, aiming to boost operational efficiency and financial inclusion for members including overseas Filipino workers.
Scoring Rationale
Official MOU announced at Davos provides credible, actionable pilot plans and national relevance. Score reflects moderate novelty and sectoral scope; press-release format limits technical depth, while same-day timing and official parties add slight uplift.
