NPCI launched FiMI, a Finance Model for India, at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The domain-specific LLM targets the UPI digital payments ecosystem, handling transactions, disputes, mandates and regulatory queries, and supports English, Hindi, Telugu and Bengali with more languages planned. NPCI trained FiMI on multibillion India-specific tokens to deliver scalable, multilingual conversational support for national payments.
