NextEra Partners With Exxon To Build Gas-Powered Data Center Plant

NextEra Energy is partnering with Exxon Mobil to develop a 1.2 gigawatt natural-gas power plant using Exxon's carbon-capture technology, CEO John Ketchum told investors Monday. The companies have secured 2,500 acres in the Southeast and plan to market the site to a hyperscaler in Q1 2026; NextEra also aims for up to eight gigawatts of gas by 2032 and 15 gigawatts for data-center hubs by 2035.
