MMCA Names Four Finalists For Korea Artist Prize

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) announced four finalists for the Korea Artist Prize 2026: Lee Hai Min Sun, Hong Jin-hwon, Lee Jung-woo and Jeon Hyun-sun. Each finalist receives 50 million won to develop new work for an exhibition running July 24–Dec. 6, with the final winner revealed in October receiving an additional 10 million won. The prize, co-organized with the SBS Foundation, supports mid-career Korean artists.
Scoring Rationale
Official finalist announcement is timely and credible, but has limited novelty and a narrow arts-sector scope for broader audiences.
