Meta was granted a patent in late December for an AI system that uses a large language model to simulate a person's social media activity when they are absent or deceased. The filing details training on user-specific historical data to like, comment, send DMs, and simulate audio/video interactions, though Meta says it has "no plans to move forward" and experts flag privacy and ethical issues.
