Mahajan Imaging Introduces Blood Biomarker Test

Mahajan Imaging and Labs on Jan. 20, 2026 introduced an AI-integrated pTAU/Aβ1-42 blood biomarker test combined with structured PET and MRI pathways, the company said at a Gurugram symposium. The test, approved by the US FDA and India's CDSCO, aims to expand early Alzheimer's detection in India where amyloid PET scans can cost up to Rs 2 lakh. Conclusions will be shared with the Neurological Society of India to inform guidelines.
Key Points
- 1Introduces AI-integrated pTAU/Aβ1-42 blood biomarker with PET/MRI pathways for early Alzheimer's diagnosis
- 2Addresses limited amyloid PET availability and high costs (up to Rs 2 lakh), expanding diagnostic access
- 3Enables earlier detection and monitoring, informing Neurological Society guidelines and patient care planning
Scoring Rationale
Practical, FDA/CDSCO-backed diagnostic rollout with clinical applicability; limited novelty given prior approvals and existing imaging alternatives.
