Indian IT Leaders Defend Software Services Relevance

Heads of India’s top IT firms told attendees at the India AI Impact Summit on Feb. 21, 2026 that software services will remain relevant in the AI era, though roles will evolve, executives from TCS, Infosys, HCLTech and Salesforce said. They cited an estimated $300‑billion opportunity in AI services, highlighted investments such as Infosys’s 20,000 recruits, and urged focus on legacy modernisation, AI trust, validation, observability, and scalable enterprise solutions.
