India Strengthens Domestic Critical-Materials Capacity For Clean-Energy Transition

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said on March 27 at the Planet C3 Summit in New Delhi that India is pursuing a clean energy transition to reduce import dependence and strengthen domestic capacity. He highlighted demand growth for lithium and rare-earth permanent magnets, announced the first indigenous permanent magnet plant in Visakhapatnam and a dedicated rare-earth magnet policy, and cited the Nuclear Energy Mission targeting capacity growth by 2047.
