India Considers Launching AI Mission 2.0 Nationwide

India's government, buoyed by about $70 billion in AI computing investments, is considering an AI Mission 2.0, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Friday. He said stakeholder discussions will begin soon and the follow-up, likely within five to six months, may carry larger fiscal support; the initial mission (₹10,371.92 crore) scaled GPUs from 10,000 to 38,000 and will showcase small language models.
