Ilhan Omar Photo Shows Digital Fabrication

On Jan. 27, 2026, a digitally generated image purporting to show Rep. Ilhan Omar with Anthony Kazmierczak circulated online after he was accused of spraying her. Google Gemini's SynthID scan and a visible "DFF" watermark linked the image to a parody X account and indicated it was generated or edited with Google AI, not an authentic photograph. The doctored image was created from a manipulated Facebook photo of Kazmierczak.
