Hyderabad Police Launches AI Duty Allocation System

Hyderabad police on January 28, 2026 launched a generative AI-based duty allocation system for the City Armed Reserve, shifting from manual allocation to automated assignments. Developed in about two months, the platform uses a score-based model rooted in the Hungarian Method and considers seniority, reserve days, rewards, disciplinary records, and health; its first run processed 1,796 applications and allotted 208 duties. The system aims to increase transparency and free officers for core policing.
