Google is testing new ad formats in its Search AI mode that let retailers offer and sell products directly within Gemini, Bloomberg reported Feb. 11, citing a Google letter to advertisers. The tests include purchases from Etsy and Wayfair plus a Direct Offers feature for discounts, and Google is working with Walmart, Target and Shopify on standardized checkout and identity to monetize AI chats.
