Disney Integrates OpenAI Sora For Disney+ Shorts

Disney CEO Bob Iger outlined the company’s licensing arrangement with OpenAI’s Sora during Disney’s Q1 investor call, describing plans for Sora-generated short-form video on Disney+. The three-year agreement permits users to generate 30-second clips featuring about 250 Disney characters without human faces or voices, allows curated uploads to Disney+, and aims to roll out in fiscal 2026 to boost engagement and enable subscriber-created shorts.
