Delta Raises Checked Baggage Fees Domestically

Delta Air Lines announced Tuesday that, effective Wednesday, it will raise checked-baggage fees by $10 for the first and second bags and $50 for the third, bringing fees to $45, $55 and $200 respectively. The carrier said the changes respond to higher jet-fuel costs tied to the Middle East conflict — costs CEO Ed Bastian said added about $400 million since Feb. 28 — and follow similar moves by other U.S. airlines.
