Dark Sky Founders Launch Acme Weather App
Three Dark Sky founders launched Acme Weather, a new subscription weather app available now for $25 per year with a two-week free trial, the team announced in a Feb. 23 interview and blog post. Acme combines in-house models, alternative forecasts, radar, satellite and ground-station data from ECMWF, NOAA and other agencies, and emphasizes transparency by surfacing forecast uncertainty and community-sourced alerts.
