China Launches Second-Phase National 6G Trials Program

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Wednesday launched the second phase of national 6G trials, after a first phase that identified and reserved more than 300 core 6G technologies. The phase will focus on system integration, scenario-based testing and cross-domain experiments including terahertz, AI-native networks and satellite-ground convergence. Officials expect expanded industry, academic and state research participation to accelerate standards and potential commercial readiness toward 2030.
