Chandrasekaran Declares AI Next Major Infrastructure

At the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi on Feb. 19-20, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran said artificial intelligence is the next major infrastructure, comparable to steam engines, electricity and the internet. He urged making AI accessible to every citizen, cited India's 1.4 billion digital IDs and half of global digital payments, and highlighted rapid upskilling of 1,500 rural women.
