CentOS Establishes Accelerated Infrastructure Enablement SIG
The CentOS project on April 2, 2026 established the Accelerated Infrastructure Enablement (AIE) special interest group to provide a "fast lane" for integrating in-flight patches and enabling NVIDIA AI factory hardware. The SIG on CentOS Stream 10 will focus on ARM64 kernel builds, virtualization and networking for NVIDIA's Connect-X/BlueField/Spectrum-X and GB200/Vera Rubin platforms, offering day-zero ISOs and images and feeding stable RHEL releases.
Scoring Rationale
Official CentOS announcement introduces a new SIG with direct, actionable outputs (ISOs, kernel builds) and clear credibility. Score reflects high actionability and relevance to AI infrastructure, moderate novelty and segment scope, and timeliness (published today).
