CBA Builds Agents To Automate Application Modernisation

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is expanding Lumos, its multi-agent workflow, to let AI agents autonomously start and conduct cloud modernisation and keep documentation up to date, Ash Moollan said at AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas. The system, which already prepares tens of applications per quarter for rehosting, aims to add continuous background monitoring, cross-repo dependency mapping and polyglot self-improvement to accelerate safer, faster migrations.
Key Points
- 1Develops Lumos multi-agent system to prepare tens of applications per quarter for cloud modernisation
- 2Automates analysis, design and orchestration to reduce manual triggers and accelerate migration workflows
- 3Implements continuous background agents that self-update technical documentation and map cross-repo dependencies
Scoring Rationale
Official company announcement shows significant automation potential, but it's an evolving internal system with limited general availability.
