BMW is deploying AI-powered humanoid robots at its Leipzig iFACTORY after a successful Spartanburg pilot last year that helped produce over 30,000 X3s. The new deployment uses Zurich-based Hexagon's AEON robots, unveiled in June, which employ AI-based motion control and "Physical AI" to evaluate environments and make autonomous decisions. BMW says pilots test integration under real-world production conditions.
