Bangladesh Prime Minister Pledges Rule Of Law

Tarique Rahman vowed on February 18, 2026, to strengthen the rule of law, curb corruption, and restore security after being sworn in as prime minister on February 17 following February 12 parliamentary elections. He pledged protection for minorities and action against mob violence, citing NGO reports of 522 communal attacks in 2025 and 116 minority murders between June 2025 and January 2026.
