Anthropic has published a 57-page "Claude's Constitution", replacing its May 2023 guidelines and defining the model's intended values, identity, and behavior for internal use. The document lists prioritized core values and hard constraints forbidding "serious uplift" assistance for biological, chemical, nuclear, or radiological weapons, cyberweapons, child sexual abuse material, and large-scale harm, and raises the possibility Claude may have moral status.
