AI Threatens Jobs In Women-Dominated Administrative Roles

Brookings Institution and the Centre for the Governance of AI released a Jan. 29, 2026 report finding AI poses high disruption risk to clerical and administrative workers. The study estimates more than 6 million U.S. workers would struggle to adapt, and 86% of the hardest-hit workers are women. It recommends retraining and AI-skills uptake to improve redeployment prospects.
