Adversaries Accelerate Breakout Time Using AI

CrowdStrike's 2026 Global Threat Report found AI-enabled adversaries increased attacks by 89% in 2025 and average breakout time fell to 29 minutes, with the fastest at 27 seconds. The report says 55% of interactive intrusions occurred in North America and major targets included technology, manufacturing, retail and financial services. It warns defenders must speed detection and consider AI-powered defenses to match attacker velocity.
